The RIG has assembled an incredible group of accomplished experts from a wide range of professional disciplines who have volunteered their time and talent to provide direct support across a range of strategic and operational challenges including:
  1. Support with fund raising and identifying potential grant opportunities
  2. Providing technical assistance and access to essential technologies
  3. Identifying vendors and negotiating discounted rates for services
  4. Providing advice and counsel on all aspects of RIG strategy and operations
Individually and collectively, our Advisory council members have helped the RIG establish a solid foundation for future growth.

James Emerson

Lt. Colonel James J. Emerson USMC (Ret.) is Vice President at the National White- Collar Crime Center (NW3C). Jim served for more than ten years as Chairman of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Computer Crime and Digital Evidence Committee. His careers in law enforcement and security span more than 42 years and include work in cybercrime investigations, computer forensics, and related criminal intelligence.

Ron Brooks

Ron is a principal and co-founder of Brooks Bawden Moore, LLC., a Washington, D.C. based public safety advocacy firm providing government affairs services, marketing strategy development, public relations, and business development to both public and private sector organizations. Ron’s 38-year career in law enforcement included more than ten years at the helm of the Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NC HIDTA) and the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC).

Nick Trutanich, Esq.

After service as Assistant United States Attorney (Deputy Chief of Violent & Organized Crimes), Nick left DOJ to serve as Chief of Staff and First Assistant Attorney General for the State of Nevada.  In January, 2019, Nick was appointed as United States Attorney for Nevada and served in that role for more than two years.  Today, Nick is Executive Vice President of Litigation/Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at Fox Corporation and also serves as Chief Integrity Officer for the United States Football League.

Terry Neeley

As a recognized expert in the federal law enforcement BSA/Money Laundering Control Act, Terry has more than 25 years of experience investigating complex drug money laundering organizations, white collar financial crimes, and terrorist financing.  Terry was a key figure in the most significant drug money laundering investigation in U.S. history.  He has successfully directed Departments of Justice and Treasury certified undercover financial task force operations against Mexico and Columbia drug trafficking cartels for the U.S. Customs Service Office of Investigations.

Chris Mathers

After a 20-year career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Chris joined the forensic division of the international accounting firm, KPMG, rising to the role of President of KPMG Corporate Intelligence, Inc.  In 2004, Chris established Chris Mathers, Inc., a private crime and risk consulting firm based in Toronto.  His company provides a broad range of services including the testing of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing practices and the creation of appropriate related compliance programs.  His company designs and delivers training on AML/TF to both domestic and foreign financial institutions.

James Samuelson

Over the past 30 years, James has served as a CEO and as a CFO for both private and publicly traded companies worldwide. For the past six years, he has worked as an independent advisor to numerous private and public companies assisting with their merger & acquisitions, financing, strategic planning, and national stock exchange listing activities. Earlier in his career, James worked as an investment banker in both Vienna and Paris.

Brian Filter, Esq.

Licensed to practice in Nevada and Utah, Brian has served in private practice and as a county prosecutor and an administrative law judge.  Over the course of ten years as a prosecuting attorney, Brian developed specialized expertise handing murder, sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse cases.  Brian recently established Filter Law, Chtd., a Minden, Nevada based firm focused on criminal defense and family law

Jody Moxham

Jody is the founder of PhaseOne Communications, which provided communications strategy development services to companies including General Motors, Coca Cola, Exxon Mobil, General Mills, and many more.  One month after 9/11, Jody was asked by the U.S. Intelligence community to apply her proprietary methodology in support of national security interests.  Today, her company does extensive work for U.S. Intel and DoD clients.  Jody was instrumental in founding the U.S. Marketing Communications College to help train FEDGOV personnel in private sector communications strategies. Jody is a Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.

Bud Frank Esq.

Bud is a retired prosecutor and the founding Chair of the California District Attorneys’ Association High Technology Crime Committee.  Bud was the first state Deputy Attorney General assigned to Silicon Valley’s federal-state-local high tech crime task force.  A pioneer in the investigation and prosecution of cybercrime, Bud was a frequent instructor in state and national peace officer and attorney trainings which focused on the special challenges posed by on-line crime. Bud has also served as executive director of Santa Cruz County’s criminal justice planning board and was a policy analyst in the Criminal Division of the US Department of Justice.

Anthony Martin Esq.

Anthony began his legal career serving as a prosecutor in the United States Office of Special Counsel in Washington, D.C., where he investigated allegations involving the Whistleblower Protection Act and the Hatch Act.  He went on to serve as the Chief Deputy Attorney General for the State of West Virginia before joining the U.S. Justice Department where his roles included Senior Litigation Counsel, Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona

Douglas Picard

​Over the course of 45 years, Doug has held senior technical leadership positions with SAP, Yahoo, and Apple.  Currently, he serves as the Senior Product Manager for Technical Operations at Crowdstrike.  Early in his career, Doug founded and served as President and CTO of International Automation Associates, where he built large scale data, voice, and video networks in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.  He built one of the first metro Ethernet networks in the nation for the City of San Francisco.  Doug rebuilt the aging networks at Lawrence Livermore Labs and at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.

Tom Brennan

Tom Brennan is the CEO of ProactiveRISK (www.proactiverisk.com). With over a decade of contributions to the OWASP Foundation and experience as the Technical Director at SAFECode, Tom continues to shape the cybersecurity landscape in his ongoing role as Chairman of the Americas Board for CREST International. His career is a testament to his dedication to advancing cybersecurity and data protection practices globally.

Grant Ongers

Co-founder of Secure Delivery and current OWASP Global Foundation board chair, Grant Ongers (@rewtd), is a firm believer in security enabling delivery not blocking it. Well-known in the international InfoSec community (it's hard to forget the beard!), his 10+ years of experience in Dev, 20 years in Ops and 30 years in Sec (mostly white hat) has made him a firm believer that there's no such thing as DevSecOps - just DevOps done right, and that compliance != security (or the other way around). Alongside his role as CTO within Secure Delivery, Grant provides C-suite advice and guidance on security to FTSE100 enterprises and strategic risk analysis within M&A diligence teams. Grant also volunteers with the Met (NSY) on response teams and in the digital policing space.
